History of Southern Heads Association
The records of the Southern Heads Association reveal that a small group of heads began gathering informally in the early 1970’s. The first written word indicating the origin and purpose of the group comes from a letter in the Southern Heads Association records written October 2, 1974, by Bill Brewster, Jr., then head of the Woodward Academy of College Park, GA. Bill wrote: “For the last five or six years, a small group of Southern Heads and their wives have met for a weekend of play, fellowship, and informal discussion of educational problems.”
